The Breath Test is a patient-friendly, non-invasive method used for the diagnosis of small intestinal bacterial overgrowth and carbohydrate malabsorption. However, due to the lack of well-validated criteria that are both sensitive and specific for diagnozing these conditions, these tests have not been widely used. BreathCalc is a computer-aided system that will be further backed by Artificial Intelligence in the future, revolutionising the diagnostic armamentarium for the diagnosis of carbohydrate malabsorption and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. This system will aid in providing personalised therapy for patients suffering from chronic digestive disorders, and also aid in further research on these disorders by treating the targets.
